We chose Yoplait because it was cheaper and, being yogurt and all, we assumed it would have live cultures. Well, we know what assuming means (ass out of you and me, etc.). Turns out that Yoplait Greek fat free yogurt has no live cultures; instead it has the following: cultured pasteurized Grade A nonfat milk, milk protein concentrate, kosher gelatin, Vitamin A acetate, and Vitamin D 3. So it appears that they put shit in there to make it thicken up (gelatin, milk protein) instead of letting the live cultures do their thing. So we ended up with a half gallon of curdled slime instead of yogurt.

Went this morning and bought some Brown Cow All Natural Greek Yogurt, which contains cultured pasteurized milk and five live yogurt cultures. Gonna try another batch today.

Moral of the story: read the labels on the food you buy.

Oh, wow! I just saw on the empty Yoplait carton where it says there are live and active cultures! So why don't they list them in the ingredients? And why did our first batch come out like albino snot? So in my opinion, we should rename Yoplait "Noplait" or "Fauxplait". Don't cross Zortron with shwag yogurt- no good will come of that.

Zorton's Maiden Voyage Into The Blogosphere

I have put aside my smoke signals, rotary phone, and Commodore 64 and leapt into the 21st Century. Now, can someone tell me how this shit works? I feel like I was born yesterday (I'm crapping my cyber diaper as we speak), so you all (whoever you are) will get to see me transcend the cuddly clutches of the 20th Century and navigate this New Frontier (new to me, anyhow). Now, I most come up with interesting and thought-provoking things to say. Prepare to be astounded, but first I'm going to make the cat move so I can crawl into bed and come up with interesting and thought-provoking things to say. Is it possible to blog about absolutely nothing? Stay tuned while I exhaustively examine the endless facets of nothing. I promise to leave no stone turned in my quest for nothing in particular. Seriously, check out my blog- I'd hate for you to miss nothing. Until next time, uh, whatever.

Zortron
